About TableNest

Who it's for: operators taking bookings every day of the week — restaurants, cafes, bars and wine bars, cellar doors and taprooms, tours and tastings, salons and appointment-based venues — who want one tool that runs the service, not just a reservation inbox.

How it works. You get a hosted booking page and an embeddable widget that drops into your existing site as an iframe or a script tag: no developer, no setup call. Setup is a six-step wizard — venue, areas, tables, hours, booking rules — and online, phone and walk-in bookings all land in one calendar. Front-of-house works from a printable run sheet ordered by service time, table, party size and guest notes. Every guest keeps a record: booking count, last visit, notes, VIP flag, birthday and a running no-show count. Confirmations and reminders go out by email, and by text where the plan carries a message allowance.

Higher plans add a visual floor plan with drag-to-seat and live turn timing, synced across iPad, phone and desktop, plus a seating solver and waitlist auto-notify. From the Business plan: deposits via Stripe or Square, gift cards that scan at a Square terminal, Xero invoicing, covers reports and a REST API. Ticketed events, free RSVPs, private functions and scheduled tour departures with a per-session capacity cap run alongside normal bookings, and a widget can be scoped to a single event.

What makes it different is that the flat fee is the whole bill. Guest texts are bundled into the plan rather than billed per message, email confirmations are unlimited, staff accounts cost nothing and there is no contract. Australian pricing runs A$29 to A$99 a month, GST included (AUD), with local pricing and local message allowances in New Zealand and the United States. A strong season costs no more than a quiet one. The 30-day trial takes no card to start and runs on Pro-tier features, so the floor plan is part of what you try.

"The transition was seamless and it offers everything our old booking system had for a fraction of the price."

Square POS is deliberately one-way: bookings and guests push out, and the status of a TableNest booking comes back. It does not read Square orders or spend.
